Launched in 2020, Kuraray Foundation of America, Inc. (KFA) is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit corporation that provides support to Kuraray Group (Kuraray) employees and their communities. In the wake of natural disasters and other significant crises, as well as oversees the process of ongoing charitable contributions and sponsorships.
KFA partners with Kuraray employees to strengthen our hometown communities through volunteerism, donations, and sponsorships addressing local community needs. We align our community investments with common economic and societal goals that complement our business focus where Kuraray operates across the country.
We focus our philanthropic support across three main areas.
KFA is committed to creating change within Kuraray’s communities and shaping the diverse workers of tomorrow by leveraging the power of Kuraray’s culture. KFA funds a broad range of projects that promote a greater cultural understanding between the employees of both the United States and Japan.
KFA supports many educational projects but is especially interested in supporting K-12 programs that enhance STEM skills. It is our belief that providing students with opportunities to develop these skills could lead them to an interest in technical careers in the future.
Kuraray is committed to innovative chemistry and the manufacturing of products that are indispensable in modern times. The Kuraray Group continues to develop new fields of business using pioneering technology that improves the environment and enhances the quality of life throughout the world. Through these developments, KFA has dedicated itself to protecting Kuraray’s people, the environment, and the well-being of the communities where Kuraray operates. KFA directs its funding in this area towards community safety and fire prevention, disaster preparedness, and recovery, protecting critical ecosystems, addressing air and water quality, as well as societal health and wellness issues.
KFA supports employee voluntarism across the United States. In 2022, Kuraray volunteers donated over 250 hours in their communities during corporate engagement events.
